The A•C•T BXR-1 Backscatter sensor represents the next generation of solid state sensors that are an alternative to all nucleonic backscatter sensors. The A•C•T BXR-1 Backscatter sensor is designed to provide precise, repeatable, on-line, continuous web measurement of basis weight or thickness. Utilizing a non-nucleonic radiation source and multiple solid state detectors, the BXR-1 Backscatter sensor provides improved measurement precision and repeatability when compared with competitive sensors. With BXR-1 there is no need for source wipes and source disposals. The BXR-1 sensor is application specific and provides measurement of a wide range of materials from thin films to heavy gage plastic and rubber sheet. The BXR-1 can be packaged for scanning and fixed position applications.
